Hamas leader's assassination in Iran has implications throughout the region
Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in Iran on Wednesday. Israel has been implicated in the attack but has not yet commented on its role in Haniyeh's death, which came less than 24 hours after Israel claimed to have killed Hezbollah leader Fuad Shukr in Lebanon.
That strike was in retaliation for a Hezbollah bombing over the weekend that killed 12 children in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. All this is increasing fear of a wider war in the region — already destabilized by the war in Gaza and the escalating conflict between Israel and Lebanon.
Host Anthony Brooks talks to Borzou Daragahi, a journalist in the region and a senior fellow with the Atlantic Council.
