Palestinian detainees describe 'hell' in Israeli detention

According to reports in The Washington Post and The Guardian, Israeli soldiers have beaten Palestinian detainees so badly they’ve been left with broken bones, hearing loss and infected wounds.
Israel’s military routinely denies the systematic abuse of detainees
But as part of a recent investigation, The Guardian, interviewed Palestinians after their release.
And according to an investigation by Israeli human rights organization B’Tselem, dozens of these prison facilities have been transformed since Oct. 7 in what they describe as “torture camps.”
For more, we speak with Emma Graham-Harrison, senior international affairs reporter at The Guardian.
Since this story ran, the Israel Prison Service responded to Here & Now's request for comment. The IPS said in part:
"All prisoners are detained according to the law. All basic rights required are fully applied by professionally trained prison guards.
"We are not aware of the claims you described and as far as we know, no such events have occurred under IPS responsibility. Nonetheless, prisoners and detainees have the right to file a complaint that will be fully examined and addressed by official authorities."
