Car insurance is on the up, even as prices come down

Car prices have come down consistently over 10 months following a spike during and after the pandemic sent prices skyrocketing.

While the price-drop for both new and used vehicles is welcome, insurance and maintenance costs are up significantly from a year ago. What's behind the increase?
