Mites enticed by cicada eggs are giving Chicagoans an itch
This summer, Chicago experienced an explosion of cicadas. Now, the city is experiencing another explosion: mites that feast on cicada eggs. Those mites are leaving people with an itchy rash.
Ecologist Jennifer Rydzewski works with the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County. She has been advising locals on the mites and joins host Deepa Fernandes for more.
