Keeping Families Together program put on pause

05:57

A Biden Administration program that offers a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants who are married to U.S. citizens has been put on hold by a federal judge in Texas. The program, called Keeping Families Together, is suspended for 14 days but that hold could be extended while the court considers arguments in the case.

Here & Now's Deepa Fernandes speaks with Ashley DeAzevedo, president of American Families United, an organization that advocates for mixed-status families, about the program and what the pause means.

This segment aired on August 29, 2024.
