Kroger and Albertsons battle FTC in court. What's at stake with proposed merger
Kroger and Albertsons together have about 5,000 grocery stores across the country.
Federal regulators object to the two conglomerates merging, saying it would lead to a lack of competition, higher prices and bad news for consumers and workers. The grocery giants say their big competition is Walmart, the nation's biggest grocery retailer.
