A year ago, eastern Libya was devastated by flooding caused by Storm Daniel. The worst impact was felt in the coastal town of Derna, where thousands died.

One year later, host Lisa Mullins speaks to Al Jazeera's Malik Traina, who talks about the slow recovery efforts, the political strife and how the group ruling the region has made it almost impossible to report from the ground.

This segment aired on September 12, 2024.
