Hurricane Helene expected to get stronger before making landfall

03:50

Forecasters expect Hurricane Helene to get much stronger before it makes landfall on the Florida coast sometime Thursday night as a category three storm. A storm surge as high as 20 feet could flood inland. The National Hurricane Center calls this surge "unsurvivable."

Megan Borowski, a meteorologist with the Florida Public Radio Emergency Network, joins host Eric Westervelt.

This segment aired on September 26, 2024.
