The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced last week that five endangered red wolf pups in North Carolina are presumed dead months after their father was hit by a vehicle. The news is tragic for those looking to reestablish a once-thriving wolf population in the Southeast.

Host Peter O'Dowd talks with Katerina Ramos of the North Carolina Wildlife Federation for an update on how this impacts recovery efforts.

This segment aired on September 26, 2024.
