Even beyond fear-mongering lies about immigrants eating pets, misinformation and disinformation about the election is again spreading online.

Renee DiResta helped lead a Stanford institution that aimed to fight election disinformation, until, in an Orwellian twist, it also became the target of disinformation. She talks with Here & Now's Scott Tong. Her latest book is “Invisible Rulers: The People Who Turn Lies into Reality.”
