We revisit host Deepa Fernandes's August conversation with historian, author and Indigenous activist Nick Estes about his 2019 book "Our History is the Future: Standing Rock versus the Dakota Access Pipeline, and the Long Tradition of Indigenous Resistance," which was released in a new edition.

In the book, Estes tells stories of past Indigenous acts of resistance and how that resistance has lessons for the growing global water crisis.
