What the FTC's new 'click to cancel' rule means for consumers
The Federal Trade Commission recently approved a new rule that will make it easier for consumers to cancel subscriptions or memberships for which they are automatically billed. The new "click to cancel" rule was created to make it as easy to cancel a subscription or service as it is to sign up. Companies must also be clear about when a free trial ends and get informed consent before charging.
