New study finds wastewater bacteria can break down PFAs
A new study published in Science Advances found that a group of bacteria in wastewater can break down PFASs, so-called forever chemicals that are found in food packaging, nonstick cookware and cleaning supplies.
William Dichtel, a chemist at Northwestern University who studies energy-efficient ways to degrade PFASs, joins us to discuss.
