Medicare contractors make billions despite wrongdoing
Companies that do business with Medicare have defrauded the federally run health care system for an average of $60 billion a year, according to a new report from ProPublica. Some of the worst offenders continue to do business with Medicare after paying penalties that are only a fraction of the profits made on misbehavior.
