Artist Manjari Sharma explores memory, mythology and life after death

In her work, artist Manjari Sharma explores ritual, identity and mythology. She has two exhibitions currently on view at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

"Looking for a Silver Lining" features photographs exploring her mother's battle with dementia. "The Universe is a Mirror" is about Hindu rituals of death and the afterlife, scientific curiosity and the exploration of the universe.

Here & Now's Deepa Fernandes talks with Manjari Sharma about her process and how art can help us cope with difficult experiences and better understand the stories we tell about who we are.
