Houston is trying to decide what to do with what was once called "The Eighth Wonder of the World."

The Houston Astrodome — opened in 1965 — was an architectural marvel for its time. It was home to baseball's Astros and football's Oilers. It hosted hundreds of rodeos and concerts and it even served as a shelter during Hurricane Katrina.

But the Astrodome has become obsolete over the years and hasn't hosted an event in over a decade. Now, a group wants to restore the astrodome and surrounding area.

Beth Wiedower Jackson of the Astrodome Conservancy joins host Peter O'Dowd to talk about her nonprofit's plans.

This segment aired on November 22, 2024.
