Largest evacuation of children from Gaza to the U.S. underway

Eight children are currently being evacuated from Gaza and will arrive in the United States early next week to receive urgent medical care. This is the single largest convoy of evacuations of children from Gaza to the U.S.

Their cases have often been delayed due to crippling bureaucracy and an uncertain approval process from Israel. Human rights advocates call this medical convoy a piece of good news, but still a drop in the ocean compared to the medical needs Palestinians are facing.

Tareq Hailat is with the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund and joins host Deepa Fernandes to discuss these evacuations.
