'The Last Ships from Hamburg' tells the story of Jewish immigration at the turn of the 20th century

From 1890 to 1921, 2.5 million Jews fleeing antisemitic violence in Eastern Europe came to the United States aided by three businessmen, including German-Jewish shipping magnate Albert Ballin.
Author Stephen Ujifusa tells the story in the book, "The Last Ships from Hamburg: Business, Rivalry, and the Race to Save Russia's Jews on the Eve of World War I." Ujifusa joins host Scott Tong to talk about the book.
