Jimmy Carter leaves behind a legacy of advancing progress for Black women

05:54

One of the largest parts of former President Jimmy Carter's legacy is his record of advancing progress for Black Americans. He appointed multiple Black women to key positions in his administration and pushed for years to give Black Americans better opportunities to vote, go to college or start a business.

Shavon Arline-Bradley, president and CEO of the National Council of Negro Women, joins host Scott Tong for her reflections on Carter's civil rights impact.

This segment aired on January 2, 2025.
