With LA fires blazing, where's the water?
Los Angeles County’s three 1-million-gallon water tanks, critical for firefighters battling the area’s fires, went dry, one after the other, between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 3 a.m. Wednesday morning.
The shortages hit particularly hard as the need for water rose to four times regular usage for 15 straight hours, according to the LA Department of Water and Power.
Here & Now's Robin Young checks in with Jay Lund of the Center for Watershed Sciences at the University of California Davis about the factors contributing to the lack of water and intensity of the blazes.
