With 1,000+ mental health workers on strike, LA residents struggle to find care in wake of fires
A group of more than 1,000 Kaiser Permanente mental health workers are coming up on three months of strike, asking for better working conditions. In a system where mental health workers are already in short supply, this will make it even harder for Los Angeles residents to find care in the coming weeks and months as they are trying to recover from the fires.
KP workers say their treatment is symptomatic of a system that doesn’t value mental health care as it does physical health care.
