Vice President JD Vance is in Paris for an international summit on artificial intelligence. Organized by the governments of France and India, the AI Action Summit could end with an agreement on AI's role in addressing global problems like climate change and inequality. But critics say a leaked draft is vague on how to hold world leaders and powerful companies accountable.

The Trump administration is reportedly already using AI to slash government agencies including the Department of Education. It's also seeking public input on a new "AI Action Plan" to replace former President Biden's executive order on AI, which Trump revoked in January.

Here & Now's Scott Tong speaks with Ina Fried, chief technology correspondent for Axios.

This segment aired on February 10, 2025.
