Maham Khwaja’s children’s book, “The Home We Make," takes kids along the hopeful journey of a refugee girl and her family as they search for a new home. It was inspired by poetry she wrote in response to the first Trump administration as a young Muslim immigrant living in this country.

She talks with Here & Now’s Deepa Fernandes about using writing as a tool for resilience.
