California group Mariachi Mestizo celebrates 25 years of making music
Over two decades ago, Juan Morales left a career as a mariachi musician to teach in the Delano, California, area. The result is the musical group "Mariachi Mestizo," composed of students from grades seven to 12.
They just released the album "Mariachi Mestizo XXV Aniversario" with the nonprofit record company Little Village. Morales and violinist and singer Joelynn Valencia speak with host Deepa Fernandes.
