A Tufts University student from Turkey was arrested by plainclothes agents from the Department of Homeland Security on Tuesday in Somerville.

The 30-year-old doctoral student wrote an opinion piece in the Tufts student newspaper last year, criticizing the university's response to the pro-Palestinian movement. Her arrest follows the detainment of other university students who spoke out against the war in Gaza.

We speak with Ramzi Kassen, an attorney and founding director of CLEAR, an organization that supports communities who are targeted by the government under the guise of national security.

This segment aired on March 27, 2025.
