There is no home-sweet-home this year for the Tampa Bay Rays. The team opens its regular season today at an 11-thousand-seat spring-training stadium.

The Rays' dome in St. Petersburg — just 20 miles away from Tampa — was ruined last year in Hurricane Milton. So now they’ll have to brave the Florida summer at a tiny outdoor venue owned by another team.

It’s not the only home-field predicament in baseball. The Athletics have bolted from Oakland and will spend their season at a minor-league ballpark in West Sacramento.

Tampa Bay Times reporter Colleen Wright joins us.

This segment aired on March 28, 2025.
