Jewish community divided in response to the Trump's push against antisemitism

05:35

There's a divide among the Jewish community about some of President Trump's recent moves to combat what his administration is qualifying as antisemitism. Some organizations applaud his efforts, including his administration's arrest of students who protested last year against the war in Gaza.

Others have expressed concern that the administration is using antisemitism as a cover to target people and institutions, which could increase antisemitism and create a divide between Jews and other minority groups.

Here & Now's Lisa Mullins speaks with Alex Pascal, senior fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, about how he feels about Trump's latest moves to counter what he deems antisemitic activity. Pascal previously served as an advisor on domestic policy to former President Biden and on national security policy to former President Obama.

This segment aired on April 14, 2025.
