Diplomats, security experts accuse Trump of assault on democracy
Retired diplomats and national security experts have signed an open letter that accuses the Trump administration of an assault on American democracy.
NPR’s Michele Kelemen reports that they are drawing on their own experiences.

“Americans overwhelmingly rejected the failed globalist policies of these individuals, which allowed America to get ripped off and laughed at for decades, in November 2024," White House Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly said in a statement. "President Trump is leading the most transparent administration in history while restoring American strength and killing terrorists who want to threaten our national security.”
