How baby gear like car seats and strollers may be impacted by tariffs

05:21

Manufacturers who make essential safety products for infants and young children, like car seats and cribs, are asking President Trump for an exemption from tariffs on Chinese imports to ensure access and affordability for American families.

Trump said Tuesday that the current 145% tariffs on China will come down substantially, though no deal has been announced.

Here & Now’s Deepa Fernandes hears more about the impact of the uncertainty. She speaks with Kerry Bailey, CEO of Cybex North America, a company that produces most of its children’s products in China.

This segment aired on April 23, 2025.
