Susan Stamberg has died. The original NPR staffer became the first woman to broadcast a nightly national news show when she became an All Things Considered anchor in 1972.

We remember the legacy of this NPR 'founding mother' with Scott Simon, host of NPR's Weekend Edition.

This segment aired on October 17, 2025.
