Susan E. Gallagher is an associate professor of political science at UMass Lowell who focuses mainly on the history of inequality in the U.S. She is working on a biography of a once famous but now largely forgotten anti-slavery orator, "A ‘Black John Brown’: The Life and Legacy of H. Ford Douglas."
