NO PLEDGE NECESSARY TO ENTER. Pledging does not increase the chances of winning. Void where prohibited. Open only to legal residents of the 50 states of the U.S. (including the District of Columbia), 18 or older. All sweepstakes begin at 12:01 AM ET on February 17, 2025. Deadlines for entry for each sweepstake vary as specified below. A pledge in any amount within these deadlines results in an automatic entry. Subject to applicable sweepstakes rules, members of the Edward R. Murrow Society, WBUR’s major donor group, are automatically entered into all sweepstakes. All WBUR Sustainers are automatically entered into all sweepstakes. All times referenced are Eastern Time. By entering sweepstakes, entrant consents to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Suffolk County, Massachusetts for resolution of all disputes. Winner(s) will be selected in a random drawing approximately one month after the end of the fundraiser. Once submitted, entries become the sole property of WBUR and will not be returned. Winners will be notified by phone, mail and/or email. If a potential winner cannot be reached after 10 days from first notification attempt, or if an entrant is found to be ineligible, or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, such prize will be forfeited. Entrants need not be present to win. In the event the winner declines the prize or if the prize is forfeited as stated above, another winner will be selected. In the event the second winner declines the prize or if the prize is forfeited, as stated above, the prize may be designated for another sweepstakes or fundraising auction. Persons affiliated with WBUR/Boston University are ineligible to win. Winner will be required to sign a general release of claims and acceptance of the prize, and a receipt within 7 days of notice that they are the winner to accept the prize. If the winner fails to do so, the prize will be forfeited. Winner is responsible for all taxes associated with the prize, including if the prize is forfeited after acceptance. No substitution will be allowed and prizes may not be redeemed for cash or other consideration. Winner will not receive a difference between the actual and approximate retail value of a prize. Prizes are non-transferable. (a) Prize is a thirteen (13)-day, twelve (12)-night trip with eleven (11)-nights of accommodations, for two (2) people, on the guided travel tour: “Tanzania and the Great East African Migration,” courtesy of Road Scholar. Trip includes round trip economy airfare from Boston’s Logan Airport for two (2) people; two (2)-night accommodations at Tarangire Osupuko Lodge; one (1) night accommodation at Manyara Wildlife Safari Camp; four (4)-night accommodations at Semipermanent Tented Camp - Central Serengeti; one (1) night accommodation at Ang'ata Ngorongoro Camp; one (1) night accommodation at Acacia Farm Lodge; two (2) night accommodation at Mount Meru Hotel; thirty (30) meals; eight (8) expert-led lectures; sixteen (16) expert-led field trips; an experienced group leader; customary gratuities throughout the program; and the Road Scholar Assurance Plan. Trip details are subject to change. Both travelers must be eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of travel. Winner and travel companion must travel on the same itinerary and at the same time. Winner and travel companion are responsible for obtaining valid passports and any other documents necessary for travel. Trip must be booked at least ninety (90)-days in advance of departure. To redeem, WBUR will facilitate contact with a Road Scholar representative. The winner must book their reservation through a Road Scholar representative. Travel must be completed by December 31, 2026. Actual value of trip may vary depending on dates of travel, subject to space and availability. Winner must agree to the Road Scholar’s Terms and Conditions available here: https://www.roadscholar.org/Terms-Conditions/. If the actual value of the travel turns out to be less than total prize value set forth below, the difference will not be awarded in cash. Should the winner cancel after making trip reservations, the prize is forfeited, and no substitution or credit will be provided. Winner may need to pay for any departure fees and federal, state, and/or local taxes, fees and surcharges at time of reservation. Optional trip protection plan; room supplements; incidentals; passenger tariffs or duties; airline fees; surcharges; airport fees; service charges or facility charges; personal charges such as alcoholic beverages, spa services, and internet usage; security fees; additional costs to fly from airports other than Boston, business class upgrades and any other add-ons are not included in the trip and must be paid for by the travelers. WBUR reserves the right to substitute the trip for one of equal or greater value if the designated prize should become unavailable for any reason. Total prize is valued at seventeen thousand, four hundred forty-eight US Dollars ($17,448 US Dollars). The winner will receive an IRS Form-1099 in this amount from Boston University after the calendar year concludes. The deadline to enter is on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 7 PM (ET) and will be posted online at www.wbur.org/sweepstakes.
(b) Prize is two (2) tickets to Perfect Pairings, a conversation with chef Eric Ripert and conductor of the Boston Pops, Keith Lockhart at The Boston University Center for Computing & Data Sciences, located at 665 Commonwealth Ave in Boston, on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at 5:00 PM and two (2) VIP Passes to the WBUR Festival on Friday, May 30 and Saturday, May 31, 2025. The VIP Pass includes access to Friday and Saturday sessions and activities, fast-pass line access, access to the VIP Lounge with complimentary food and beverage, VIP-only merchandise, and two (2) orchestra seats to see a live production of Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me! on Thursday, May 29, 2025, 7:30 PM at The Boch Center - Wang Theater, located at 2700 Tremont Street in Boston. Tickets for Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me! will be delivered via email at least one hour prior to the show. Ticket delivery details for Perfect Pairings and the VIP Pass will be determined by May 15, 2025 and winners will be notified directly by WBUR. WBUR reserves the right to substitute the prize for one of equal or greater value if the designated prize should become unavailable for any reason. Three (3) winners will be selected at random. (a) Prize is one (1) Christopherson Business Travel gift certificate in the amount of two-thousand dollars ($2,000 USD) which can be used toward reserving two (2) roundtrip airline reservations, in accordance with Christopherson Business Travel’s protocols and guidelines. To redeem the Christopherson Business Travel gift certificate, the winner must make travel arrangements through Christopherson Business Travel. WBUR will facilitate contact with a Christopherson Business Travel representative to assist in booking the reservation. Reservations must be booked by January 31, 2026, and at least fifteen (15) days before the travel date. The costs of air reservations may vary based on travel dates, destination, availability. Any expenses not covered by and/or exceeding the travel gift certificate amount are the winner's responsibility. The travel gift certificate cannot be applied to excursions, meals, gratuities, personal expenses, or other costs associated with the trip. The winner and travel companion are responsible for arranging valid passports or necessary documents for travel. Should the winner cancel after making trip reservations, the prize is forfeited, and no substitution or credit will be provided. If the amount redeemed turns out to be less than the amount awarded on the gift certificate, the difference will not be awarded in cash. WBUR reserves the right to substitute the prize for one of equal or greater value if the designated prize should become unavailable for any reason. Any unused or remaining daily credit will not be awarded in cash and is not transferable. If the reservation is cancelled more than twenty-one (21) days prior to arrival, the winner may reschedule, provided the winner does so in accordance with the deadlines established by the rules. Should the winner cancel their reservation less than twenty-one (21) days prior to arrival, the prize is forfeited, and no substitution or credit will be provided. Reservations are based upon availability. The cost may vary based on dates of availability. If the amount redeemed turns out to be less than the prize amount awarded, the difference will not be awarded in cash. Trip includes round trip economy airfare from Boston’s Logan Airport for two (2) people; two (2)-night accommodations at Reykjavik Natura Hotel; seven (7)-nights cabin accommodations aboard the Ocean Albatros in a “Ship Balcony” level cabin (the “Ship Balcony” is a cabin that includes a verandah or balcony that will allow travelers to step outside without going to a public deck); twenty-seven (27) meals; four (4) expert-led lectures; nine (9) expert-led field trips; an experienced group leader; customary gratuities throughout the program; and the Road Scholar Assurance Plan. Trip must be booked at least ninety (90)-days in advance of travel. WBUR will provide the winner with a contact at Road Scholar to book travel. Travel must be completed by December 31, 2025. Actual value of trip may vary depending on dates of travel, subject to space and availability. Winner agrees to the Road Scholar’s Terms and Conditions outlined here: https://www.roadscholar.org/Terms-Conditions/. If the actual value of the travel turns out to be less than total prize valued below, the difference will not be awarded in cash. Should the winner cancel after making trip reservations, the prize is forfeited, and no substitution or credit will be provided. Winner may need to pay for any departure fees and federal, state, and/or local taxes, fees and surcharges at time of reservation. Optional trip protection plan; room supplements; incidentals; passenger tariffs or duties; airline fees; surcharges; airport fees; service charges or facility charges; personal charges such as alcoholic beverages, spa services, and internet usage; security fees; additional costs to fly from airports other than Boston, business class upgrades and any other add-ons are not included in the trip and must be paid for by the travelers. WBUR reserves the right to substitute the trip for one of equal or greater value if the designated prize should become unavailable for any reason. Total prize is valued at twenty-three thousand and nine-hundred-ninety-eight US dollars ($23,998 US Dollars). The winner will receive an IRS Form-1099 in this amount from Boston University after the calendar year concludes. The deadline to enter is Friday, April 5, 2024, at 7 PM EDT and will be posted online at www.wbur.org/sweepstakes.
