Mass MOCA Sues Over Exhibit

The Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art is going to court over an installation by Swiss artist Christoph Buchel. The museum has filed suit seeking to allow the public to see Buchel's work even though it is not finished. Buchel's work-in-progress at Mass MOCA is titled "Training Ground for Democracy." It includes a replica of a mud hut residence of Saddam Hussein, and an interrogation chamber.

The museum says it's waited long enough for Buchel to finish his sprawling installation and now, in a move some feel is provocative its opening another exhibit this weekend titled "Made at Mass MOCA." Visitors will have to walk right through Buchel's installation in order to get to the new exhibit. WBUR's Deb Becker talked with the director of Mass MOCA, Joseph Thompson.
