Gov. To Tap Botsford for SJC

This article is more than 12 years old.

Governor Deval Patrick is expected to announce his first appointment to the state's highest court Thursday.

An aide to the Governor has told WBUR that Patrick could tap Suffolk Superior Court Judge Margot Botsford to replace the late Justice Martha Sossman on the Supreme Judicial Court. The Governor has scheduled a press conference for 10 o'clock Thursday morning.

For some analysis of the SJC nomination, WBUR's Bob Oakes turns to David Yas. He's Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly and a new publication, called Exhibit A.
