Deval Patrick Call-in

20,000 new jobs, good jobs with health insurance, a 2 billion dollar annual kick in the state's economy, tens of thousands of new construction jobs, and a new way to attract more tourists to the state....that's what Governor Deval Patrick says will result if we build three new casinos in Massachusetts.

But there is a downside: Increased crime and some people lose their savings and homes because of gambling addiction.

Are the downsides worth the potential upside? Do you think it's time to roll the dice and take a gamble on casino gambling? Or is the lure of easy money keeping state lawmakers from the hard work of balancing the budget the old fashioned way.

Governor Deval Patrick joins us to talk about why he's decided casino gambling is right for Massachusetts.

This program aired on September 27, 2007. The audio for this program is not available.
