Science Education in MA

Today, a statewide conference will bring together hundreds of educators, policy makers, and community leaders to talk about preparing students for careers in the science, technology, engineering and math fields.

This comes on the heels of the recently released MCAS results that show poor performance on the science test. More than a quarter of high school students who took the test failed.

Joining WBUR's Bob Oakes to talk about the role of science education is Paul Reville. He's Chair of the State Board of Education and President of the Rennie Center for Education Research and Policy.

Audio for this story will be available on WBUR's web site later today.

This program aired on October 17, 2007. The audio for this program is not available.
