Locals React to Pope's Meeting

In a surprise move, Pope Benedict XVI met with alleged victims of priest sexual abuse from the Boston Archdiocese.

It was the first time the Pope met with victims.

They met privately, in the Vatican's embassy in Washington. The pope apologized to them.

Several of the victims who met with him said they feel hopeful. But as WBUR's Monica Brady-Myerov reports, others who were not part of the meeting were more skeptical.

This program aired on April 18, 2008. The audio for this program is not available.
