Amber Alert Deactivated

The Massachusetts State Police are confirming that 6-month-old Lucas Whalen has been taken to the Arlington Police Department.

Several hours are the State Police issued an amber alert for Lucas Whalen late this afternoon, authorities say his mother Danielle Boyle took him to the Arlington Police station.

Police say Boyle and her husband Michael Whalen had taken Lucas, after they lost parental custody of the boy. Police are still trying to locate his father.

Michael Whalen is described as a white male, 42 years of age, 5'9", 180 pounds with dirty blonde hair, blue eyes and tattoos.

Yesterday, the couple failed to release Lucas to a temporary custodian and, as a result of statements and threats made by Michael Whalen, authorities say they had reason to believe Lucas was in danger and that his safety was at risk.

Whalen and Boyle were believed to be traveling together in a dark gray 2007 Ford 500, bearing Massachusetts Registration 49RF83. The vehicle is a rental.
