This article is more than 11 years old.

As the Red Sox seek their longest winning streak in almost two years, they'll turn to a pitcher who hasn't lost in 2008.

Daisuke Matsuzaka looks to lead Boston to their seventh straight victory overall and a four-game sweep of the Royals.

Brian Bannister pitches for Kansas City.

The teams conclude their series this afternoon at Fenway Park.

The Red Sox have won six straight games for the second time this season.

They haven't won seven in a row since a 12-game run in June, 2006.

All of the current streak has come at Fenway, where Boston has won nine consecutive games overall to improve to a major league-best 20-5 at home.

The Red Sox are batting .300 in home games.
