Brady-less Pats Beat Jets

Even without injured quarterback Tom Brady, the New England Patriots are now 2-0 in the young season. The Patriots beat the Jets on the road yesterday by a score of 19-to-10.

Fans, naturally, had been skeptical the Pats could win without Brady, and coach Bill Belicheck said he's glad the team proved them wrong.

BELICHECK: I'm really proud of the way they played. I know a lot of people didn't expect us to do much today but these guys came in here with a lot of determination and I thought they played a good, solid game. Not perfect, still a lot of things we need to work on.

OAKES: All eyes were on Matt Cassel, the quarterback who replaced Brady. He lead the offense, completed 16 of his 23 passes for 165 yards. He did not pass for any touch-downs, but did not throw any interceptions either. Joining us this morning to assess the team without Tom Brady is Boston Globe sports writer Mike Reiss.
