Belmont Considers Cutting After-School Programs

The repercussions of the state's budget crisis are rippling throughout cities and towns across the state, even in communities that are relatively well off.

School spending is often a big part of the debate. Usually, at this time of year, talk turns to how much money to cut from the schools — and how much to trim from other town services.

In Belmont right now, one proposal is causing a lot of controversy. WBUR's Fred Thys reports.
