The MBTA has fired the T conductor accused of causing Friday night’s accident on the Green Line.

Aiden Quinn was supposed to speak with MBTA officials Friday, but his attorney, Michelle Menken, canceled the meeting.

She called off another meeting with federal investigators earlier this week.

Menken said she's concerned that Quinn will saying something that could help prosecutors bring criminal charges against him.

Quinn allegedly told T investigators just after the accident that he was text messaging when he ran a red light and rear ended another trolley.

In Quinn's termination letter, T General Manager Daniel Grabauskas blamed Quinn's "poor judgement and inattention to duty."

Since the incident, the T has tightened its policy against operators using phones and text-messaging devices.

This program aired on May 14, 2009.
