Summer is typically the off-season for taxi drivers. This year, the recession is making it even slower. Boston cabbies say their take-home pay is down by 50 to 75 percent, compared with previous years.

In our occasional series on living with less, three Boston-area drivers talk about their struggle just to stay in business.

This program aired on August 18, 2009.
