3 Consecutive Scorchers Means Heat Wave In Boston

It's official — Boston is in the midst of a heat wave after temperatures reached into the 90s Wednesday.

Forecasters say the weather should cool down a bit by Thursday. A sea-breeze should hold temperatures in the 80s.

The heat does not come as a surprise.

WCVB meteorologist Harvey Leonard said Hurricane Bill is really catching the attention of forecasters now.

"There are a few computer models that are bringing it a little bit closer now. If that happens, there will be some rain and gusty winds on the coast, including Boston."

Leonard said the wet weather could last through Sunday.
