Brown Hits Back After Negative Coakley Ad

After the feisty last debate between state Sen. Scott Brown and his Democratic opponent, Attorney General Martha Coakley, the Massachusetts Democratic party started running an ad in which a man's ominous voice asks: "Who is Scott Brown, really? A Republican, in lockstep with Washington Republicans."

The ad juxtaposes pictures of Brown, former President George W. Bush, and former Vice President Dick Cheney.

Brown is countering with his own ad, in which he says: "By now, you've probably seen the negative ads launched by Martha Coakley and her supporters."

Brown's ad shows a picture of Coakley with Gov. Deval Patrick and former Massachusetts House Speaker Salvatore DiMasi. It appears just a week before the crucial Senate election that could determine whether President Obama's health care reform passes the Senate.

This program aired on January 12, 2010. The audio for this program is not available.
