President Obama's nominee for the Supreme Court, Elena Kagan, spent six years as dean of Harvard Law School. One of her initiatives there was the introduction of a program to provide financial support for students who want to work in public service legal fields following graduation.

Harvard Law Professor Carol Steiker is the dean's special adviser on that program, and she joined WBUR Tuesday morning to speak about her former colleague and newest Justice nominee.

This program aired on May 11, 2010.
