Lyme Disease: Getting Urban?

Tick
Andy Langager/FlickrWBUR's Radio Boston yesterday featured experts discussing the spread of Lyme disease in Massachusetts far beyond Cape Cod. The show prompted comments from one reader who said she'd found the culprits, deer ticks, in her very urban condo.

Personal experience: 5-year-old just back from a trip to Acadia National Park last year with a telltale bullseye rash on his leg. Two weeks of antibiotics. End of story except for a lingering feeling of desperation over the possibility of ever being able to check children well enough to find the tiny little bugs.

This program aired on August 25, 2010. The audio for this program is not available.
