Boston police are investigating the discovery of a newborn baby found naked and alone in an alley.
A neighbor who heard crying called police to the alley just off Saratoga Street in East Boston at about 10:15 p.m. on Monday.
According to broadcast reports, the baby boy was unclothed and his umbilical cord was still attached.
The baby was taken to a hospital.
Police Commisioner Edward Davis tells WFXT-TV that the baby's mother has been located and taken to the hospital. He says both are "fine."
