New Transit Center Opens At T.F. Green Airport

A new transit center has opened at T.F. Green Airport in Warwick, R.I. which links travel by air, car, intercity bus and commuter rail into one location.

The $267 million InterLink multi-modal transportation facility officially opened on Wednesday.

Rhode Island Gov. Don Carcieri says the Interlink will enhance travel and improve the airport's economic impact on the state.

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse says it will help solidify T.F. Green's place as a major transportation hub for New England.

Commuter rail service provided by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority is expected to start later this year.
