Sen. Brown: Revelations About My Life Won't Affect Re-Election Bid

Sen. Scott Brown is dismissing concerns that new revelations about his life will affect his re-election bid next year.

In an interview aired on CBS' "60 Minutes" Sunday night, Brown said people have always tried to distort his record or use things against him.

"When I'm getting kind of the crap beat out of me outside in the political spectrum, I'm like, 'This is nothing. Bring it. Let's go. Next,' " Brown said.

"People will recognize the honesty and the fact that I'm speaking very clearly and plainly about issues that have affected me in my life, and for them to take and kind of twist it around, I think it will kind of backfire."

In the book, Brown details a history of being physically and sexually abused, as well as stealing.

His memoir is set to be released Monday.

This program aired on February 21, 2011. The audio for this program is not available.
